Victim himself or herself in a medical emergency.
If you are a victim in a medical emergency, your role depends on whether you are unconscious or conscious. If you are unconscious (not able to see, hear, or talk), or if a baby is having a medical emergency, others have to manage this medical emergency.

If you are conscious, able to hear, see, and talk, and old enough and able to communicate with others, you can take the initiative to manage a medical emergency.
Ask for help.
Be ready to answer relevant questions.
